In 1989, Land Rover embarked on an ambitious mission to traverse the most demanding portion of the Continental Divide in Colorado.

Dubbed the 1989 Great Divide Expedition, it was the launch event for the 1990 Range Rover.

With the Rocky Mountains as the backdrop, a caravan of Range Rovers—then new, now classic—navigated their way along a grueling 1,000-mile route that took nearly two years to develop.

Twenty-five years later, Land Rover is gearing up to repeat the feat with a fleet of 2014 Range Rovers.

Meanwhile, they’re auctioning off a replica of an original 1990 Range Rover Great Divide Expedition model on eBay to support the Tread Lightly!organization.
