Parisian auction house Artcurial will offer a c.1940 Rolex chronograph that once belonged to the great Sir Malcolm Campbell, who broke many world speed records, at its Fine Watches sale in Monaco on July 22.
According to the current owner, the extremely rare watch was given to Campbell upon achieving one of his many feats of record-setting speed at the legendary Bonneville Salt Flats in one of his famed Bluebird vehicles.
It’s expected to bring in up to about $165,000, but could go much higher given the godlike awe in which Campbell is held.
So you’ll need to be just as fast with the paddle, if you plan to land it…
