Usually, when we come across race-tested machinery up for grabs, it hails from RM Auctions or (insert swanky beach locale here) Concours d’Elegance.

But not this one. In fact, this auction’s dress code doesn’t ask for anything more formal than your birthday suit, because these Indy Cars are crossing the block on eBay. (We’ll assume that, because it’s an eBay Motors ad, the generic ¾ shots and barely in-focus interior snaps were mandatory.)

After pulling out before the start of ’14 season, Panther Racing had some leftover equipment in the garage. So the two-time series champs put J.R. Hildebrand’s 2011 Indy 500 2nd-place finisher and the late Dan Wheldon’s 2009 Indy 500 2nd-place finisher up for grabs (at least the chassis anyway).

J.R.’s National Guardsponsored number four is opening at $40,000, but if you’re too eager to wait, the Buy It Now price is $95,000.

Also available is a ’91 Lola Turbo V6 and four GM race engines.

Belated Father’s Day gifts are always welcome…
