Back in 1975, the marketing geniuses at Kool had a brilliant idea:

Give away a brand-new $64K Rolls-Royce Corniche convertible painted the same emetic shade of green as their smokes.

Winners, the ad assured, would be driving “the coolest car in the world, compliments of Kool.”

Anyone over 21 could enter, but to be eligible, you had to send in two empty (and presumably lovingly smoked) packs of Kool, or two 3-by-5 cards with the words “Come Up to Kool” printed on them.

Not very much effort, even if the car did look like a bucket of sick…
