In the world of luxury autos, the name David Brown is sacred.

He bought and revived Aston Martin in the ’40s, and the marque’s legendary DB series is named after him.

Now a new David Brown is attempting to make his mark.

In April, a UK-based concern called David Brown Automotive plans to launch a redefined ”classic British sports car for the 21st century.”

All we know so far is that the design team is led by Alan Mobberley, formerly Chief Designer at Land Rover for 19 years.

Brown, we’re informed, has commissioned a “completely original exterior and interior design” for the vehicle, which will be bespoke heavy and built in small numbers.

The result is codenamed “Project Judi”—purely temporarily, we hope.

We can only hope…
