These days, Bob Dylan gets arrested just for walking, but back in the day, he was something of a badass biker.

In this shot, he’s pictured in Newport, RI, during the famed Folk Festival in July 1964, astride his new 500cc Triumph T100.

Two years later, the writer of “Motorpsycho Nightmare” nearly killed himself while out riding the bike near his home in Woodstock, NY, and had to take time off to recuperate.

According to his pal Joan Baez, it was only a matter of time.

“He used to hang on to that thing like a sack of flour,” she once recalled.
