Back in 2010, Persol released an extremely limited-edition run of sunglasses identical to the Persol 714 models with custom blue lenses worn by Steve McQueen in 1968′s The Thomas Crown Affairwhich he then adopted as something of a personal trademark.

They sold out a while ago, but the iconic Italian eyewear brand has just come out with a new version, the 714SM, with a few fine-tuned details.

The new shades feature inward-folding hinges showcasing the signature Persol double arrow, as on the original pair McQueen wore.

They’re offered in a number of exclusive lens options including the King of Cool’s blue, employing the latest polarization and photochromic technology.

And they come in a cool leather pouch perfect for slipping into a trench coat pocket.

Our man Frank Scious at haute online eyewear boutique Eyegoodies has them of course in various frame and lens combos, ranging from $359 to $459.

The “Crown-ing” touch to your look, if you will…
