A 1982 Porsche 956 Group C Sports-Prototype, to be precise, part of the heartrending Harburg Collection of important competition cars, to be sold at RM Auctions’ Paris sale during the world-famous Retromobile show week in Paris.
The 1982 956 Group C Sports-Prototype competed in the 1982 24 Hours of Le Mans as one of the three factory cars and went on to place third overall, completing an historic 1-2-3 finish for the Porsche Works team that year.
As the marque readies a new assault on Le Mans in 2014, lest Audi overtake the record for total wins, the 956 is an important score for some deep-pocketed Porsche collector…
