Our latest look at the weekend’s automotive excesses focuses on the many fantastic Ferraris and Alfa Romeos populating the field at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, where the world’s most beautiful classic cars compete for various prestigious awards.
Of course we were able to observe them from the best seat in the house, aka Bentley’s private lounge and terrace directly in front of the podium at the Concours, where on the VVIPs get best the gatekeeper.
Among the honors racked up by the two Italian marques:
Most Elegant Sports Car: 1955 Ferrari 250 GT Pininfarina Berlinetta Speciale
Enzo Ferrari Trophy: 1953 Ferrari 250 MM Pininfarina Berlinetta
Mille Miglia Prewar Trophy: 1932 Alfa Romeo Tipo B P3 Biposto
Mille Miglia Postwar Trophy: 1951 Ferrari 212 MM Vignale Berlinetta
The Vitesse – Elegance Trophy: 1960 Alfa Romeo Superflow IV Pininfarina Coupé
In the Ferrari Grand Touring Class, a 1955 Ferrari 250 GT Pininfarina Berlinetta Speciale took first place, while competition-wise, a 1951 Ferrari 212 Export Touring Barchetta won the day.
