The Alfa Romeo Tipo 33/3 made its debut in 1969 at the 12 Hours of Sebring, but the model didn’t garner any real racing honors until ’71, when it racked up wins at Sebring, Brands Hatch, Monza, Spa Francorchamps, Targa Florio and Watkins Glen.
All of which makes the much-raced 1970 example being sold by RM Auctions at its London sale next month worth a cool $850K.
That and the fact that a Tipo 33/3 costarred in Steve McQueen’s movie Le Mans…
