In 1965, the Shelby Mustang was born, available only in the new fastback 2+2 body style with swept-back rear glass and “Silent Flo” ventilation louvers.
In ’68 of course, Steve McQueen made the fastback famous with the now legendary chase scene in Bullitt, but by then it was already an automotive icon.
Still it took the King to really make it sing…
