At RM Auctions’ flagship two-day sale in Monterey, CA, from August 16 to 17 during the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance motoring week, this spectacular 1955 Jaguar D-Type is set to cross the auction block.

D-Types are supremely desirable no matter what the provenance, but this one has a particularly colorful past.

Originally sold to Curt Lincoln, of Helsinki, Finland, it was used for the popular Scandinavian motorsport of ice racing.
