In 2011, classic British sports car marque MG was reborn in Europe—as a Honda.
Okay, not quite, but the new models from the now Chinese-owned brand are distinctly lacking in character.
That might have something to do with the fact that although assembled at the UK’s historic Longbridge plant, the cars are principally manufactured in China.

The new MG CS Concept, set to be unveiled at the Shanghai Motor Show, does little to alter that impression, unfortunately.
We would far prefer that our nostalgia was allowed to remain unmolested…
