Back in January, we noted that Maserati was preparing to reintroduce the Ghibli, the gorgeous Gran Turismo built by the Italian stallion maker from 1966 to 1973.
Now the finished product, or anyway a rendering of it, has been revealed in advance of the Shanghai Motor Show.
Positioned to compete with the likes of the Mercedes-Benz E-Class and BMW 5 Series (i.e., at a lower price point than that inhabited by current Maserati models), it resembles a leaner, sportier Quattroporte and will be powered by a 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 engine.
We don’t think, however, that it has quite the visual impact of the original, which won over the likes of Sammy Davis Jr.
The new version is decidedly more expense account than Rat Pack…
