2014 is rapidly approaching, and with it, the long-awaited return to the US of Alfa Romeo.

The model that will herald the marque’s reappearance here has been revealed as the 4C, which Alfa has unveiled via rendering ahead of the Geneva Motor Show.

While it may not quite pack the vintage appeal of a Graduate-style Spider, the 4C is undeniably an Italian sports car packing plenty of power along with an impressive provenance.

With a presumed starting sticker of around $45,000 to $50,000 and plenty of sprezzatura for the price, it’s bound to draw many a “baby Ferrari” comment.

And for those for whom nothing but an Italian sports car will do, and who haven’t had the cash to indulge that whim up till now, it will pack plenty of appeal as well.
