In 1970, Land Rover launched the now iconic Range Rover, the first true luxury sport utility vehicle.

One of the very first purchasers of the seminal SUV was Colin Chapman, the stylish former RAF officer and founder of Lotus Cars, who had just been knighted by the Queen.


Finished in an era-appropriate shade called Bahama Gold, the 1971 model has been “gently” restored and is being offered for sale by the UK’s Kingsley Cars for about $75,000.
