Over a million bucks’ worth of motorbikes crossed the auction block at Bonhams’ second annual Grand Palais sale in Paris the other day.
The incredible Garelli Grand Prix Collection that we previewed last month did a roaring trade (pun intended), with the top price of about $40,000 realized by a 1926 Garelli 348cc racing model.
A 1968 Egli-Vincent 998cc racer went for about $55,000, meanwhile, and a rare 1941 Zündapp of the kind we were enthusing over just the other day brought in about $50K.
Which just goes to show a well-placed umlaut can make all the difference…
