The cool Coupe de Ville prototype we looked at a couple weeks back isn’t the only Cadillac concept car making the scene at the Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance next month.
The super-futuristic 1959 XP-74 Cyclone, one of the last cars designed by the legendary Harley Earl, will also be putting in an appearance.
Inspired by the era’s rocket ship craze, the Cyclone had many futuristic features like a front exhaust, an automatic silver-coated anti-UV canopy and electrically operated sliding doors.
Those wild-looking nose cones aren’t just for show either.
They house radar sensors forming part of the car’s revolutionary crash-avoidance system—presumably so you don’t accidentally rear-end the space shuttle…
