When it was introduced in 1962 as a roadster, the Lotus Elan more than lived up to its name.
The S.2 seen here was a more refined version of the stylish set of wheels made from 1964 to 1966, while a +2 version with rear seats (albeit tiny ones) became the British car company’s first real commercial success, enjoying the favor of The Avengers‘ Emma Peel, among others.
