Maserati recently announced plans to revive the famed Ghibli, the gorgeous Gran Turismo built from 1966 to 1973 (above), for the second time.

The voracious V8, owned by the likes of Sammy Davis Jr. and other swinging cats back in the day, was produced as the Ghibli II in 1992 to 1997, not one of the marque’s more auspicious eras.

The new Ghibli is intended to be Maserati entry-level offering come 2014, a sedan that will owe plenty to the brand’s corporate cohort, Chrysler.
