Continuing our coverage of RM Auctions’ awesome Arizona sale on January 18, we offer up a 1965 Ford GT40.
The first GT40 production road coupe delivered to the UK and one of the best road-going GT40s in existence, it’s bound to spark some major bidding action, if not an all-out war.
The car has competed for most of its life, including notable appearances at the six-hour relay at Silverstone in 1973, Le Mans and more.
Carefully restored, impeccably maintained and finished in its original factory shade of pine green with silver Le Mans stripes hinting at its racing prowess, it’s a heady reminder that American race cars once gave Enzo Ferrari more than a run for his lira.
That and about $3 million will make it your personal reminder…
