It’s been 25 years since the modern era of BMW roadsters began with the launch of the Z1 at the Frankfurt Auto Show in 1987.

That’s as good an excuse as any to celebrate the newest iteration of its successor, the Z4, which is getting some updates for 2014.

Restyled headlights, fascias and fender vents don’t exactly equate to a radical redesign, but there is some news in the color department.

See if you can follow this:

Order your new Z4 in Valencia Orange, and you have the option of adding the Hyper Orange design package.

That means even more orange on the inside, including Alcantara door inserts, contrasting seat stitching and various bits of orange scattered around the cabin.
