Buell Motorcycles, founded in Wisconsin in 1983 by ex-Harley-Davidson engineer Erik Buell and later acquired by Harley, was discontinued in 2009.

Needless to say, fans of the much-loved machines were not happy when Harley pulled the plug.

Now, however, the company might have lined up new financing to relaunch under the Erik Buell Racing name, the track-only iteration of the brand born when Buell bit the dust.

The plan would be to relaunch with more affordable versions of EBR’s $40,000 1190RS and other machines that will essentially mirror the Buell lineup before it was killed off.

We say bring it on…
