At times, we admit to being somewhat neglectful of American muscle cars.

By way of restitution, please accept this drop-dead 1970 Plymouth Road Runner Superbird Hardtop Coupe, one of the jingoistic offerings at RM Auctions’ John Staluppi “Cars of Dreams” Collection sale on December 1 in West Palm Beach.
Staluppi, successful entrepreneur, car dealer and lifelong auto enthusiast, spent more than a decade assembling his collection.
Covering the gorgeous gamut of the finest, most desirable American automobiles ever produced, with a strong emphasis on convertibles and performance cars, nearly 120 examples are set to cross the auction block.
The Road Runner Superbird, expected to fetch up to $125,000, was conceived for NASCAR racing.
A rare example of an increasingly rare classic, it’s a big ball of orange fire ready to flame on…
