Lamborghini has just unveiled the long-awaited Aventador LP700-4 Roadster, dubbed the most exciting series production Lamborghini ever built and without a doubt one of the most pulse-racing roadsters the world has ever seen.

Priced at about $380,000, the car is the “result of a careful study into the best way of combining performance, elegant style, ease of use and a driving experience that excites all five senses,” the men from Sant’Agata Bolognese promise.

The two-piece roof is made entirely from carbon fiber, but no push-button operation here; the removable, ultra-lightweight panels have to be removed and stowed in the luggage compartment, an operation Lamborghini assures us takes only a few seconds.

Of course, for such a vehicle, Lamborghini has come up with a new kind of leather for the interior, called Sabbia Nefertem, designed to be a perfect match for the exterior painted something called Azzuro Thetis.

With a car that can do 0 to 62 mph in three seconds and hit a maximum speed of 217 mph thanks to a 700 hp V12, you’d hardly expect “beige” and “blue…”
