It used to be said of the Hummer that the brutish SUV was “built like a tank.”

Only one vehicle can truly make that claim, however:

The 1904 Wilson-Pilcher, built by Irish engineer Walter Wilson, later credited with inventing the very first tank while working for the British admiralty during World War I.

The four-seater, expected to fetch up to about $350,000, is one of a number of important offerings in the Bonhams auction of Veteran Motor Cars and Related Automobilia in London on November 2, ahead of this year’s London to Brighton Veteran Car Run.

It’s been owned by Wilson’s family since it was built more than a century ago.

The Wilson-Pilcher is actually offered with entry to this year’s Run—so you can buy the car on the Friday and win the race on Sunday.

And if that doesn’t work, buy a real tank…
