At the Paris Motor Show Jaguar just unveiled the much-discussed F-Type, successor – by way of the XK – of the marque’s famed E-Type and therefore inheritor of 75 years of Jaguar design DNA.
The soft-top convertible features front-engine, lightweight aluminum architecture and rear-wheel drive for peak performance.
Three models will be available – F-Type, F-Type S and the F-Type V8 S, powered respectively by the new Jaguar supercharged 3-liter V6 engine in 340 hp, 380 hp and 495 hp 5-liter supercharged V8 configurations.
Thanks to the lightweight aluminum construction, the base F-Type can do 0-to-60 in 5.1 seconds while the S model clocks in at 4.8 and the V8 S takes it down to 4.2 with a blistering top track speed of 186 mph.
