It may be mainly a footnote now, but back in the day, British Racing Motors (BRM) was one of the UK’s most prized concerns.
Founded in 1945, it raced in the inaugural Formula 1 season of 1950 through 1977, competing in 197 Grands Prix and winning 17.
The dashing Graham Hill (above) became World Champion at the wheel of a BRM in 1962.
At RM Auctions’ Battersea Evolution sale in London on October 31, this beautiful 1975 BRM racer is set to cross the auction block.
You don’t need a mustache like Hill’s to bid on it, but it might not be a bad idea in any case…
