A bespoke Series I Land Rover made for Sir Winston Churchill on the occasion of his 80th birthday in 1954 is being auctioned off by UK-based Cheffins on October 20.
Expected to fetch up to about $100,000, it features an extra-wide passenger seat to accommodate the great statesman’s grith, a fold-down armrest, a leather-clad grab handle, a footwell heater and a wooden box specially fitted so that Churchill could indulge his hobby of bricklaying.
Yes, we said bricklaying…
