The other day, we mentioned some of the mouthwatering cars at the NEMPA (New England Motor Press Association) “Ragtop Ramble and Crustacean Crawl”—an annual event that sees several supercars and other conveyances converge on the famed Colony Hotel in Kennebunkport, Maine.
While there were Lambos, Bentleys and Rollses aplenty, the most beautiful one of the bunch was actually a kit car built right here in New England.

Factory Five Racing president David Smith piloted the impossibly pulchritudinous Type 65 Coupe, based on the original 1965 FIA World Championship Shelby Daytonas designed by Carroll Shelby.
