AMG’s 45th Anniversary
Without a doubt, those three sonorous letters AMG embody automotive high performance, exclusivity and dynamic driving.
This month, the company founded in 1967 by Hans-Werner Aufrecht and Erhard Melcher, long part of Mercedes-Benz’s automotive magic, is celebrating its 45th anniversary.
The celebrations seem to consist mainly of getting ready for the company’s 50th anniversary, but that’s fine with us.
Several additional “high-performance compact cars” are in the works and the AMG vehicle count will jump from 22 to 30.
The image here is a teaser of sorts, with eight cars carefully concealed by wrappers.
