The R18 E-Tron Quattro, Audi’s awesome diesel hybrid sports car, will be taking grid position one at Le Mans, a historic first for a hybrid racer.

The 80th running of the endurance classic that has been held since 1923 is an appropriate occasion for the German marque’s innovative machine to match up against the more traditionally designed c0mpetition.

The Le Mans 24 Hours will begin Saturday and will be broadcast live by numerous TV channels worldwide.

At Audi Liveracing, Audi is also offering live streaming in which spectators can continually watch the race from the onboard perspective of the Audi R18 cars.
