To honor the 18th anniversary of Ayrton Senna‘s untimely demise at the 1994 San Marino Grand Prix, Germany’s Cam Shaft has created this special-edition Lotus Esprit with serious vintage racing style.

Although the racing legend’s original car was an ’85, Cam Shaft went with a 1996 V8 model for the tribute, adorned with Senna’s signature black and gold John Player Special livery.

They also gave the Esprit new turbos, an intercooler and cats to drive output up from 354 hp to 492 hp, and increased the top speed from 282 km/h to 305 with a much faster 0–60 clock.

We’re pretty sure Mr. Senna would approve…
