Luggage used for traveling any real distance is so often a compromise between aesthetics and practicality.
If it’s rugged enough to withstand the rigors of airport baggage handling, then odds are it looks like it was made in a sweatshop.
By the same token, if it’s attractive, then no doubt it will be in a total wreck by the time you reach your destination.
Top-drawer travel and lifestyle brand Tumi long ago mastered the art of fulfilling both requirements with the pioneering use of materials like ballistic nylon for its bags.

It also now produces a line of tough and stylish pieces for Ducati, makers of the world’s coolest motorbikes.
There are currently 10 styles available in the luxurious line, ranging from a slim laptop brief to a wheeled duffel, all with a dose of Ducati sprezzatura.
And as if that’s not enough, they also offer a matching leather jacket…
