Our fulsome coverage of the New York Auto Show will be spilling out over the next couple weeks, and to kick things off, we bring you a little sartorial amuse-bouche.

We’ll begin with the best-dressed gents we encountered during a very hectic few days, who stood out in a sea of mainly shabbily attired professional automotive journalists, a genus not known for its nattiness.

Our man of the hour here is in fact not a journalist at all, which perhaps accounts for his sprezzatura to spare.

Behold Brian Mazza, director of hospitality for the Paige Management Group, which artfully and innovatively combines both fine-dining establishments and a custom tailoring shop.

Mr. Mazza was wearing a killer spring weight flannel suit from his by-appointment-only Windsor Custom boutique complete with elbow patches and contrasting throat latch, the marks of a true dandy.

We ran into him at Porsche’s party at the Altman Building, for which they brought in some truly beautiful racing machines, including a 917 LH from the Porsche Museum in Stuttgart above.

In their competition livery, the cars were as well turned out as our bespoke buddy here…
