The famed Italian design house’s first apartment complex
The company, founded in 1930 as Carrozzeria Pininfarina by automobile designer and builder Battista “Pinin” Farina, has signed on to create interiors for real estate behemoth Related Group’s upcoming 1100 Millecento Residences project in Miami.
The famed firm will design automotive-inspired decor to complement the architecture of renowned Uruguayan architect Carlos Ott, who has a background in automotive design and cites Pininfarina as an influence in his work.
The 42-story tower will feature 382 residences at 1100 S Miami Ave.
Pininfarina’s design is expected to include plenty of exotic woods and Italian leather.

The company has made forays into kitchen and furniture design in the past, so this shouldn’t be too much of a departure for the company that created so many famous cars, including the current Ferrari 458 Italia and Maserati GranTurismo.

Plans for the chic complex include a ninth-floor elevated pool deck with a club room, a state-of-the-art fitness center, a private theater and a 42nd-level rooftop infinity pool with private cabanas—all by Pininfarina.

Given the size of the building, there might even be room for a mini Pininfarina museum.
