Yes, it does snow in Italy, even when Ferrari decides to unveil its vicious new Formula 1 monster.

The new F2012 is the 58th F1 car built by Ferrari, comprising a chassis and power train developed and produced entirely in-house.

The biggest surprise is the stepped nose, which conforms to revised FIA regulations while allowing sufficient air to pass underneath the nosecone to allow the underbody aerodynamics to do their thing, Autoblog’s esteemed Noah Joseph informs us.

Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa were on hand to give the F2012 its first taste of the air, along with a Ferrari FF to handle the snow and ice.

Note to the competition: if you see this thing coming up behind you, our advice is get the hell out of the way…
