In recent months here on DRIVEN, we’ve looked at some famed Jaguar E-Type owners of yore, from Roy Orbison to Tony Curtis and Charlton Heston.

Turns out Elton John was among their number, and his 1965 Series 1 model is now coming up for auction during Bonhams’ Collectors’ Motor Cars and Automobilia sale in Oxford, UK, on March 3.

Actually, he was a little late to the club, having acquired the car in 1987, whence it became as “OK Elton” due to its number plate OKE 1, which comes with it.

So for up to £70,000, you can park your rear right where the Rocket Man dented the leather with his own precious glutes.

That’s got to be worth at least a hundred grand…
