Moving ahead with our coverage of RM Auctions’ amazing Arizona sale in January, we offer you a look at the 1962 Lotus 23B Sports Racer set to cross the block.
Estimated at up to $225,000, the 23 was designed by Lotus founder Colin Chapman as a small-bore sports racer with sleek fiberglass bodywork by the famed Frank Costin.
A “giant killer” capable of embarrassing many far more powerful competitors
Well suited to a wide range of racing classes, the 23 quickly became known as a “giant killer” capable of embarrassing many far more powerful competitors.
The example on offer is finished in classic British Racing Green with Team Lotus livery, red-upholstered seats and iconic yellow Lotus “wobbly web” wheels.
This is without a doubt the sexiest Brit we’ve seen all season…
