The King of Cool famously rode a Triumph made to look like a German military BMW in the 1963 war epic The Great Escape.
Now the British motorcycle brand has announced plans to release a new Steve McQueen Edition in homage to the famed motorbike.
Based on the iconic Bonneville T100 it will be limited to just 1,100 numbered examples identified by a plaque on the bar clamps.
Based on the bike McQueen rode in 1963′s The Great Escape
Complete with an army style matte green lacquer finish and stenciled logo, the Steve McQueen Edition also features a solo seat and luggage rack, skid plate and various blacked-out components.
It also features a facsimile of McQueen’s signature.
McQueen was of course a longtime Triumph fan in real life as well, having bought a Bonneville from good pal Bud Ekins to race around the Hollywood Hills.
You could of course do the same with this one – provided you can find any land not already occupied by sitcom stars….
