The model was originally introduced to to complement the legendary longer Porsche 917 on twisty tracks that favored more nimble racers.
Offered for sale by California’s Tillack for about $1.4 million
In 1970 908s captured honors at both the Targa Florio and Nurburgring, while Steve McQueen drove a similar 908/2 in the 1970 12 Hours of Sebring.
The example on offer, one of only 11 built and later upgraded to 1970 spec, has been restored to its Targa Florio sunburst livery and is ready to be campaigned once again.
Time to make more history….
