A decade before he debuted as James Bond, the young Roger Moore played another suave secret agent type – The Saint.
The long-running TV series is said to have actually prevented him from taking the 007 role earlier.

In The Saint, Moore played Simon Templar, a sort of modern-day Robin Hood who rode around in a sleek Volvo P1800, a ride favored by other cool dudes like The Who.
The car came to be chosen for the series because the actor was promised a vehicle he could use both on and off set.
