Martin Scorsese’s documentary George Harrison: Living in a Material World airs this week, and Abrams is publishing an impressive volume to go along that’s a must for any Beatles believer.
Drawing on Harrison’s extensive personal collection of photographs, diaries, letters and memorabilia, his wife Olivia Harrison covers his from tuneful life from a guitar-obsessed youth in Liverpool to his days as an independent musician and bohemian country squire.

In between are adventures in India, a spell as a movie producer and a major Formula One fan.
We even get a glimpse at his custom McLaren F1 supercar.
Among the treasure trove of previously unpublished material are photographs taken by Harrison himself beginning in the mid-1960′s.
Turns out that in addition to being the best-dressed Beatle he was also an accomplished lensman.
Rock on, George….
