The Land Rover DC100 concept, a modern interpretation of the iconic Land Rover Defender is set to debut at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show.
Cue protests from the purists if it gets the greenlight to replace the Defender, the basic lines of which have changed little since 1948 – which is just how most people like it.

“Replacing the iconic Defender is one of the biggest challenges in the automotive design world; it is a car that inspires people worldwide,” notes Gerry McGovern, Land Rover’s Director of Design.
“This isn’t a production-ready concept but the beginning of a four-year journey to design a relevant Defender for the 21st century.”
We’re thinking the finished product will have to be a little more true to form….
