An ultra-rare 1968 Alfa Romeo Tipo 33/2 Le Mans Long Tail Coupe, one of the most beautiful sports-prototypes of its era, is being offered for sale via Kidston of Geneva for about $1.2 million.

One of only ten known to exist, the stunning vehicle has been on display in a museum collection for decades.

Developed and improved after its original launch in 1967, the Tipo 33 became the 33/2 and started to win races in earnest.

Rarest and most beautiful was the long tail version, created for high speed circuits like Le Mans, where this example competed in both 1968 and ’69.
