As anyone who’s spent time in Scotland can tell you, a blended Scotch is by no means necessarily inferior.
You don’t have to hop across the pond to verify that, however; artisanal spirits maker Compass Box Whisky Co. is coming out with proof.
86 proof that is.
Artist’s Blend, a new Scotch whisky from Edinburgh’s Compass Box
The name of the new elixir is Great King Street, after the street in Edinburgh where Compass Box makes it home.
It’s actually a whole range of blended whiskies, with the first offering, the Artist’s Blend, due here in September.
Rich, round and fruity with hints of toasty oak, vanilla and spice, it’s made using individually chosen casks from some of Scotland’s best distilleries.
True to its name, it also comes in a damned handsome package.
Just like you….
