Back in May our man Duncan Quinn put his foot down at Italy’s famed Mille Miglia road race.
Now some enterprising types are planning a tribute event in California this August designed to rival the real deal.
Organized in conjunction with the Automobile Club of Brescia, which runs the Italian version, the Mille Miglia North America is slated for
August 14–17 Oct. 24–30.
The Mille Miglia North America along the California coast on Oct. 24–30
In place of the Rome to Brescia and back run, the North American version will go from Monterey to Santa Barbara and Napa and back again.
Not a bad ride.
Time to dust off your prized classics – we suggest a 1956 Maserati 200 SI (above) like the one auctioned off by Gooding & Co. in Pebble Beach last year, a strong contender in the Mille among others.
Of course the world’s first production Bentley would be a good choice too….
UPDATE: the event has been rescheduled for October 24–30 in collaboration with the 25th Santa Barbara Concours d’Elegance.
