Continuing our coverage of photographer Edward Quinn’s brilliant book Stars and Cars of the ’50s, we bring you this great snap of Alain Delon arriving on the Antibes, France set of 1964′s Les Félins (aka Joy House) with co-star Jane Fonda in a Ferrari 250 GT Spyder California.

Opinion differs as to whether the ultra-cool Delon actually owned the Ferrari or was merely borrowing it from a well-heeled pal, but he looks right at home behind the wheel of the beautiful machine nonetheless.

Delon and Les Félins co-star Jane Fonda in a Ferrari 250 GT Spyder California

As we reported last month, a nearly identical 250 GT California (below) was just sold at RM Auctions’ Villa d’Este sale, where it brought in about $3.6 million.

In Les Félins, Delon plays a French playboy on the run from an American mobster after he seduces the man’s wife.

Along the way he hooks up with Fonda, among others, in one of those incomprehensible plots that French directors of the era loved so much.

Of course when you’ve got Delon’s panache, plots are beside the point….
