We habitually slaver over the amazing European collector cars offered from RM Auctions at venues like the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este.
The leading firm also does a roaring trade in domestic motors however, as evidenced by their jaw-dropping selection at Michigan’s Concours d’Elegance of America, taking place on July 30 at The Inn at St. John’s, Plymouth (formerly known as the Meadow Brook sale).
Our favorite: this 1942 Ford Super Deluxe V8 Station Wagon, the rarest of all the famed Ford woodie wagons built from 1935 – 1948.

Reminiscent of the similar one owned by Cary Grant that we featured in April, it’s actually far nicer than his because back in ’42 they were still using beautiful hard rock maple frames and African mahogany panels – inside and out.
Although offered without reserve, you’re probably looking at somewhere north of $100,000 to add this beauty to your collection.
It’s a good thing you’re familiar with the neighborhood….
