A street legal version of the famed Le Mans-winning 1986 Porsche 962 sports-prototype racer is being offered for sale in the UK for about $575,000.

The 962 was one of the most stylish and successful racers of its era, having won the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1986 and 1987 and been piloted by the likes of Mario Andretti.

A handful of carbon fiber-bodied 962s were later converted for road use, complete with luxe touches like leather bucket seats.

The example on offer from the UK’s Elms Collection was constructed by New Zealand’s Switec and originally cost a cool $2 million.

Just imagine going to get the groceries in this thing…..
